Emma Ortiz work explores the ritual of embellishment, the geometric structure of primitive motifs, the nostalgia of tokens from home, and the compositional organization present within everyday patterns. In her expressive paintings, Ortiz captures the specific summer atmosphere when the series was made. Oritz was inspired by the heady days of summer, filled with spontaneous treats, brief encounters, and urgent yet fleeting sensations.
