Drawings for Collectivity_020
In this series, Collectivity, Gunji uses organic lines formed by the gaps between the different pieces to acknowledge the existence of invisible boundaries that we meet in everyday life. The artist purposefully creates the work with a quality that makes them appear to look like drawings; the resin emphasizing the invisible lines that give the boundaries equal recognition, as the depth, spaces, and the subject matter of the work all come into equal focus. These references can also be seen in traditional Asian art, which the artist was inspired by during the creation of this series.
